I’m a college graduate now, I guess. Now, to spend the next several years looking for a decent job and getting internships that pay me with “experience”.
Long-forgotten lo-fi murder rap from Memphis may be my favorite kind of rap. Beat has such an amateurish, thrown-together vibe to it, but slaps so hard. So DIY and so unsettlingly awesome.
This is still their best album.
David Sylvian & Fennesz - Transit
No one interrupts the Harmful/When they’re speaking.
Again. Prokofiev. Breathless.

This is what is still keeping me up. over 36 hours straight awake and working. I regret nothing. Well, most things, but not this.
Especially when they talk about how they were the “last generation” of kids to grow up the right way. Because apparently bad parenting and drugs didn’t come into existence until after you grew up, right? Guess what, you’re still children, just with jobs and cars. You don’t get to talk about “your generation” until your dreams are all dried up and dead and you’re stuck to someone you hate until one of you dies or divorces the other. If your kids grow up to be lazy, selfish and stupid, it’s because you raised them to be like you. Fuck You and your stupid nostalgia facebook fan pages about 90s cartoons. Fuck our generation and the narcissistic jerks who raised us to be like them. Fuck the baby boomers for hijacking the past 5 decades of political discourse in this country while ruining the future for everyone who came after them. Fuck the World War II generation for not starting shit with the Soviets so we could bomb each other off the face of the earth and let a more emotionally mature species inherit this planet. Fuck whatever it is that led to this universe’s creation.
This post has been brought to you by severe sleep deprivation and too many college age idiots reposting 90s nostalgia chain statuses on the facebook.
but right now it just sounds like a very boring, cluttered take on trap music. The ing’ance and the bravado is there, but the execution just makes me want to listen to brick squad instead. Yes, I just devoted some words to a dude who raps exculsively about shooting people and selling crack. Monosyllabic-ally in most cases.
In other news, Three Six Mafia did this better than anyone else, ever. Here, have a rap:
Waaaaait, there is a mercyful fate comic happening? Is this legit, or a fan thing? Either way, this has my support 100%
In the Shadows is super-underrated too. There should be a Bell witch sequence. Hell, something from Time and 9 would be amazing as well.
…with an awesome Curse of the Pharaoh’s themed sequence, which is previewed in this cropped image:
I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at his whole contribution, and this snippet is only a faint hint of how awesome it actually is!
