Perhaps the best “Black Metal” album released last year. scare quotes for the kvlt-basement-dweller types who get their undies in a bunch about dudes who aren’t lily-white northern Europeans with bad corpsepaint and reprehensible political views co-opting the sound they love.
Seriously, though, this is some rad shit. The lyrics about industrial society and post-modernity, combined with their approach to melody, make me think that this is what Thou would sound like if their main influence was Black Metal instead of Sludge.
